Peter and Linda began Petlins in 1976 in a small shop at 17 Cavell Ave, Rhodes, 10kms west of Sydney. Over the years we have helped many thousands of crafts people from every part of Australia in their quest for fulfilling a desire to master their own unique skills in the fields of fibre related crafts including spinning, weaving, felting, dyeing and more. Many have progressed to their own small business, earning a modest supplementary income. Many just enjoy the social company of others in small craft groups across Australia. We have helped students ranging from Year 12 to tertiary students in their visual arts and textile courses.
Yes, we did have a bricks and mortar store, alas Covid put an end to that!.
Linda runs classes on a Saturday for all levels of spinners, and introductory weaving classes for beginner weavers. From time to time the classes also venture into dyeing and felting workshops. Please visit the Classes Page for all the details and to book in for a session of your choice.
We have an extensive online store, delivering to all parts of Australia with Australia Post or courier for larger parcels.
